Especially with the rise of new energy vehicles, technology and materials collide perfectly, making our lives more convenient and comfortable. At the same time, we have found that in recent years, consumers have increasingly high requirements for health and safety in the cabin. Although polyurethane materials have comparative advantages in product design and lightweight, they also have the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odors, which affect the air quality inside the car.

- The 2024 International Automotive New Materials Conference, jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers, the Automotive Lightweight Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, the People's Government of Wuhu City, and Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., will be held from May 30th to 31st, 2024. This conference lasted for two days, with a main venue, an academician forum, and nine sub venues for new materials majors. More than 90 professional technical reports were shared, and exhibition activities were organized at the same time. During the conference, 14 academicians and experts, including Li Yadong, academician of the CAS Member, Jian Xigao, academician of the CAE Member, and Zhang Jiujun, foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, made relevant reports on the theme of the development status and future trends of new materials for energy conservation and new energy vehicles, interpreting major industrial policies for new materials at home and abroad, sharing the latest cutting-edge technology trends of new materials, and the innovative model of in-depth integration of "government, industry, university, research, and use" and the experience in building innovative systems for new business types.
